MY STORY

Hi, I'm Mauricio Mendoza—a Creative Director, Art Director, filmmaker, and visual storyteller originally from Bogotá, Colombia.

I've believed for as long as I can remember that creativity is about solving problems and making people feel something. That belief has guided every step of my career, from designing magazines in Miami and launching my own publication, U&Me, to creating Mutt Republic, an apparel brand dedicated to supporting animal rescues.

Over the past 15+ years, I've led creative projects spanning branding, marketing campaigns, experiential design, video production, photography, motion, and digital experiences. I enjoy building ideas from the ground up—developing concepts, leading multidisciplinary teams, and turning ambitious visions into work that is both strategic and emotionally engaging.

Today, I combine traditional creative direction with the latest AI technologies to expand what's possible. Using AI as a creative partner—not a replacement for creativity—I develop cinematic visuals, product launches, branded content, and immersive campaigns that blend human insight with cutting-edge tools.

One of my proudest accomplishments is writing, directing, and producing the award-winning short film I Found You, You Found Me. Inspired by my passion for animal rescue, the film received awards for Best Writing, Best Cinematography, and Best Message, reaffirming my belief that the strongest creative work is rooted in authentic storytelling.

Whether I'm building a brand, directing a production, or exploring new creative technologies, my mission remains the same: create work that connects with people, inspires action, and leaves a lasting impression.

When I'm not creating, you'll probably find me with my rescue dog, BB, planning the next adventure—or imagining the next story worth telling.
